FIf you had a copy of PRINTRIX you would know what the above means and H
Fyou could use PRINTRIX to print the top line in one of the many fonts '
that PRINTRIX includes on their disk.
BPRINTRIX is the newest Apple program from Data Transforms, Inc. -
Denver, CO.
EAre Multiscribe and Newsroom
too slow
? Does PrintShop seem like a C
Atoy? Do you want high quality print and multiple fonts? Is the E
quality
of your printed copy important. Do you want to use YOUR B
@word processor (that you spent many hours learning), instead of I
Glearning a whole new text editor for special printing? Do you want to F
mix text and graphics
and have a wide selection of both? If your 5
answer to any one of these questions is yes....then
PRINTRIX is the answer!
BPRINTRIX includes 43 fonts, ranging from 15 to 70 pixels high, 25 >
<original PrintShop graphics and the head of the famous Data H
FTransforms' dragon by Duke Houston. That is at least three times the G
Enumber of fonts included with other Apple software packages and over
200 more are available.
GYou can use AppleWorks, Applewriter, Word Juggler, Word Perfect or any G
EASCII text file, and have complete control of font changes, columns, I
Ggraphics, bolding, underline, italics and print quality. 120 printers E
Care supported and PRINTRIX will run on any Apple //e, //c and IIgs B
@with 128k or more. Since PRINTRIX is unprotected, running on a G
ERAMdrive is easy (and convenient). If your printer has Quad Density I
Gcapability (the ImageWriter does, as do some Epson's), the printing of G
Egraphics and text is almost laser quality. Quad density is a method @
>of printing graphics so that the dots overlap each other both C
horizontally and vertically, thus smoothing out the printed copy.
FI had the pleasure to help beta test PRINTRIX, and found it to be the C
Aeasiest and best of the 'graphic oriented' programs. I had used I
GMultiscribe since it was released on my //e and Epson printer, and was B
@pleased with it, but it was really too slow and if I didn't use I
GAppleWorks to type the text, I never knew where I was line and column F
Dwise. With Multiscribe, if you used AppleWorks first to write your E
Ctext, then you had to convert that WP file to a text file and then G
Eboot up Multiscribe and then choose the font(s) you wanted and these I
Gin turn would upset your original formatting, so you never knew if you #
were getting 2 pages or 3 pages.
FBut with PRINTRIX, you use one of the above mentioned wordprocessors, D
Binsert the PRINTRIX commands using the Shift 6 as the "^" to tell I
GPRINTRIX that you are giving it a command, and you are set. Inserting F
Dgraphics (both single hi-res and PrintShop graphics) is a snap. If G
Eplaced to either the left of right, your copy will 'wrap' around the .
graphic; if centered the copy will not wrap.
GData Transforms has included 5 lessons both in the well written manual G
Eand on the disk - a business letter, mailing labels, tables, graphic G
insertion and columns. Yes, PRINTRIX will print in two columns. If
Gyou have a printer that has the reverse line feed capability, PRINTRIX C
Awill automatically roll back the carriage and start printing the F
Dsecond column. If your printer doesn't, you will have to roll back G
Ethe carriage by hand. With two column printing graphic insertion is
still capable.
FI have fallen in love with this program, and if you use an AppleWorks I
Gmacro program (AutoWorks, Super MacroWorks, or KeyPlayer), you can set E
up macros to cover all the commands that PRINTRIX offers...so easy.
PRINTRIX retails for $65 directly from Data Transforms, Inc.?
616 Washington Street:
Denver, CO 802036

OR $60 through the Apple Fontrix Club$

Thornton, CO 80229-0857I
Gwhich also includes a years membership in the club and some additional <
fonts and graphics. Or $55 with no membership in the AFC.
EVisit your local computer store and have them demonstrate PRINTRIX - F
Dbe sure they have a quad density capable printer so you can see the B
printing results. If you liked FONTRIX, you will love PRINTRIX.
